This class is for those students with some basic drawing skills that have had little to no instruction in painting but have a desire to explore that medium. Students will explore a variety of approaches in the use of paint and color by working from a variety of subject matter in a fun and supportive environment. The instructor will offer guidance in composition and color theory and the proper use of materials via group and individual critiques, demonstrations and historical references. Students may work in pastels, oil or acrylic paint (no watercolor please) and should expect to spend approximately $40 on those materials. A material list is available upon request.
